CWU Accident Helpline

As a CWU member, you will have access to legal representation for personal injury claims in and out of work through the hugely successful Legal Services Scheme. This Scheme also provides a range of benefits in the event that members and their family are involved in an off duty road traffic accident.

In the event of a road traffic accident members can phone a dedicated 24/7 UK based Helpline who will then immediately assist in providing a whole range of benefits which include:

• Recovery of your vehicle from the scene of the accident if it is undriveable ...and if the accident wasn't your fault, they will also:
  • Repair your vehicle,
  • Replace your vehicle on a like-for-like basis,
  • Report your accident to your insurers,
  • Recoup your losses, and
  • Give you expert legal support.
• Membership also entitles you to money-saving special offers:
• Special discounts on vehicle servicing from over 600 garages nationwide;
• Specially discounted rates on a wide range of legal services.

In the event of any injuries sustained in the accident, claims for compensation will be handled by CWU’s Panel Solicitors, with all legal fees being covered by the CWU’s Legal Services Department.
