The CWU and Monteray
The CWU has members across the Monteray organisation and works to represent you and your colleagues, promote your interests and make sure you get the best possible pay and conditions.
The Union is a professional organisation with a long history of representing people working for the company.
Our local officials are elected from within the work place and are highly motivated, well trained and on hand to help you. They can offer you advice and make representations on your behalf.
To back up our local officials the Union has a wide network of regional and national officials, including Legal, Industrial, Equality and Health and Safety experts.
We believe everybody needs to be in the Union.
IT’S ONLY NATURAL:
Wherever you are in the Monteray organisation the CWU is the union for you. We have vast experience in representing administrative, executive and technical grades across the telecoms and related business services industries. The Union has access to and influence in Monteray’s prime customer, BT.
VOICE COUNTS:
We already have in place a network of our members in Monteray to give a distinct and employer specific voice. The more people who join us the louder and more clearly we can speak.
CONFIDENTIAL ADVICE AND GUIDANCE:
We can advise you of your position as a Monteray employee and in Law. Our advice will always be impartial and fair.
PERSONAL REPRESENTATION:
All our members receive full representation in disciplinary situations. We can help you with your case and will directly represent you at any hearings. If needs be, we will takematters to Employee and other Tribunals.
FAIR TREATMENT:
We ensure all members are treated fairly. This means making sure you are not bullied, victimised or harassed: that your appraisements are fair: that you have full access to promotion and other opportunities, including fair annual leave options etc.
LEGAL AND ACCIDENT SERVICES:
The CWU offers you a free initial legal advice service. If you have any legal problem (it doesn’t have to be work related) we will put you in contact with a solicitor straight away. Meanwhile, if you, or a family member is injured in an accident and there is a valid claim against a third-party we will take the matter up for you at no cost.
YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY:
The Union takes great pride in ensuring our members work in a safe environment. This includes working with Monteray to reduce accidents and causes of stress and anxiety.
FINANCIAL SERVICES:
The Union offers you a full range of discounted financial services. Currently we can provide a CWU Credit card, preferential loan, mortgage and insurance facilities, as well as motor breakdown and other services.
