Portability Membership

If you’re leaving your current employer, you can keep your Union membership with the Union’s portability scheme.

Portability Membersip

Whether you’re going to work for another company or even become self employed, the CWU can go on working for you. Even if you will be unemployed and intend to seek future employment within the telecommunications, postal, call centre, IT or financial services sectors, you can remain a member of the CWU.

The Benefits of Continued Membership Include:

  • Free legal advice on any non-work issue
  • Full legal representation, where appropriate, should you or a dependent have an accident on or off duty (24/7)
  • Access to support, assistance and advice on both employment as well as non employment issues
  • Union representation at disciplinary and grievance interviews
  • You will receive a copy of the Union newspaper, the Voice, allowing you to keep up to date on Union news
  • You will also be able to attend your local Branch meetings, have the right to vote, and have your say in Union affairs.

As a portable member, CWU portability membership is only £5.99 per month.* This means you will have access to every one of the above benefits, and all for just over £1 a week.

*Payable by Direct Debit or Continuous Credit Card deductions.
